On 29 April 2026, Alternativi International team organized a workshop with students from PGIT "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" (PIGT), Petrich, dedicated to exploring the role of young people in building more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities.
The activity was implemented within the Erasmus+ project “InnovatorsLab: Gen Z’s Game-Based Peacebuilding” and brought together young people interested in topics such as communication, empathy, conflict resolution, and active citizenship.
During the workshop, participants explored key peacebuilding concepts and discussed the challenges that Generation Z faces in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. Through interactive discussions and non-formal learning activities, students reflected on the importance of dialogue, understanding different perspectives, and addressing conflicts constructively.
The workshop also introduced the innovative educational resources developed through the InnovatorsLab project, including:
– The InnovatorsLab E-learning Platform;
– The Empathy Cards;
– The Guidelines for Educational Escape Rooms;
– Innovative game-based learning approaches for peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
Students actively participated in discussions and shared their views on how young people can contribute to more tolerant and cooperative communities. The session demonstrated the potential of interactive and game-based methodologies to engage Generation Z in meaningful conversations about peace, empathy, and social responsibility.
Through activities like this, InnovatorsLab continues to bring innovative peacebuilding tools closer to young people and support the development of the skills needed for constructive dialogue and positive social change.
