The Kick-Off Meeting of the InnovatorsLab: Gen Z’s Game-Based Peace Building project took place in Sofia, Bulgaria from 23 to 26 January 2025. The meeting brought together representatives from the five partner organizations: Alternativi International (Bulgaria), Youth for Peace and Equality (Georgia), Armenian Progressive Youth (Armenia), Nicea Kultur ve Egitim Dernegi (Türkiye), and Asociatia Se Poate (Romania).
The event opened with welcoming words from the hosts and an online greeting from the project officer, who presented the goals of the project and explained the next steps for the consortium. Each partner introduced their organization and discussed their roles in the project.
During the two working days, partners agreed on detailed plans for project management, risk control, quality monitoring, communication, and monthly online meetings. They also set the timeline for the first intermediate meeting, planned for September 2025 in Romania.
Key activities were outlined for the coming months:
Creation of an educational platform and website, led by Youth for Peace and Equality.
Development of five e-learning modules on topics such as Generation Z, game-based learning, conflict resolution, and evaluation methods.
Preparation of empathy cards, escape room activities, and a guidebook to support peace education.
Setting up Gen Z Peace Labs in all partner countries.
Organizing pilot activities, including a training event in Bulgaria in July 2025 and a piloting phase in Georgia.
The partners also agreed on the project’s visual identity, social media strategy, and a plan to host public escape rooms on International Youth Day, 12 August 2025.
The InnovatorsLab project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme and aims to use creative, game-based tools to engage Generation Z in building peaceful communities.
